National seminar organized on the occasion of 'Constitution Day' in Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University
Lucknow desk (R L Pandey). On the occasion of 'Constitution Day', A two-day national seminar was inaugurated on 26th November on the topic 'Importance of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution in nation building' organized by the Law Department at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University. Constitution Day will be celebrated in the university from 25-27 November, under which various types of programs are being organized.

The seminar was presided over by Prof. S.K. Dwivedi, In-charge Vice Chancellor of the University. Honorable Mr. Justice Pradeep Kumar Srivastava was present as the chief guest. Apart from this, Prof. Amarpal Singh, Vice Chancellor of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University, Prof. Vinita Kacher, Director of Institute of Management Sciences, Lucknow University, Mr. Manoj Kumar Verma, Director of Central Communication Bureau, Lucknow, and Prof. Sudarshan Verma, Head of the Department of Law, BBAU were present on the dais.

The program started with lighting of the lamp and offering floral tributes to the photograph of Babasaheb. After this, the organizing committee expressed its gratitude to the guests by presenting them with a bouquet and memento. At the beginning, Prof. Sudarshan Verma, Head of the Law Department, informed everyone about the objective and outline of the program. After this, Dr. Sufia Ahmed introduced the guests.


While Addressing everyone, Prof. S.K. Dwivedi, In-charge Vice Chancellor said that students should analyze the Indian Constitution and imbibe how the Constitution has guided the nation through political, social and economic changes. On the other hand, the Indian Constitution tells us how our government works.    Mr. Justice Pradeep Kumar Srivastava said during the discussion that the Constitution explains the philosophy related to Indian culture where our nation has given the message of considering the world as our family with the formula of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam'. Our Constitution is directly related to the people, that is why equality, freedom and justice are its basic principles. 


 Prof. Amarpal Singh, Vice Chancellor of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University, said that the Indian Constitution is a unique example of the combination of rigidity and flexibility. Besides, it has the features like two governments, division of powers, written constitution, supremacy of the constitution, rigidity of the constitution, independent judiciary which shows a federal system.
  Prof. Vinita Kacher, Director of Institute of Management Sciences, Lucknow University, highlighted the role of women in the Constitution. She said that in the Constitution, women have been given the same fundamental freedoms and rights as men. Also, any kind of discrimination is prohibited on the basis of the Indian Constitution. 


Mr. Manoj Kumar Verma, Director of Central Communication Bureau, Lucknow, said that after independence, the Constitution has brought over all development in India. Also, Babasaheb not only presented the Constitution but also presented the future of India before us. The Constitution makes us self-reliant and only a self-reliant nation can become a sovereign nation. Prof. Preeti Mishra, Dean of the School of Legal Studies, also inspired everyone to implement the ideals of the Constitution in their lives and made them aware of the fundamental rights provided by the Constitution. In the end the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Khushnuma Bano.

 During the seminar, a technical session was organized under the chairmanship of Dr. Prem Kumar Gautam of Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University and Dr. Shashya Mishra of BBAU. Under which the participants presented research papers on sub-topics related to the topic 'Importance of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution in nation building'. Apart from this, an elocution competition was organized for the students, in which Dr. Khushnuma Bano, Dr. Anees Ahmed and Dr. Pradeep Kumar were present as judges. Also, a photo exhibition was organized by the Central Communication Bureau, Lucknow, in which photos on subjects related to various facts of the time of the making of the Constitution were made available by the Photo Division Department.
 Dr. Vishnupati Tripathi, Dr. Brijesh Yadav, Dr. Mujibur Rahman, other teachers, research scholars and students were present during the entire program.
