Lucknow, November  2025: The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, attended the closing ceremony of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of Bharat Scouts and Guides and addressed the 19th National Jamboree held in Lucknow today.

During her address, the President said that Bharat Scouts and Guides has, for more than seven decades, played a pivotal role in guiding the youth and motivating them to actively contribute to nation-building. She emphasized that the organisation’s greatest strength lies in its unwavering spirit of service. Whether during natural disasters like floods and earthquakes or in times of health emergencies, Scouts and Guides have consistently led the way in providing support and relief. She also highlighted the organisation’s significant contribution to fostering national unity and praised its efforts in nurturing responsible, aware, and future-ready young citizens.

The President noted that India has over 6.3 million Scouts and Guides, making Bharat Scouts and Guides one of the largest such organisations globally. Expressing satisfaction over the participation of more than 2.4 million girls, she commended their commitment to discipline, dedication, and service to society.

Speaking about the organisation’s motto, “Be Prepared,” the President urged young Scouts and Guides to equip themselves with the skills and confidence needed to face future challenges. She stated that technical knowledge, communication abilities, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and leadership qualities would all play crucial roles in their personal and professional journeys.

The President underlined that India's youth are both the creators of the nation’s future and custodians of its rich cultural heritage. Drawing an analogy, she said that one empowered individual can inspire many more, just as a single lamp lights several others. She expressed faith that the young generation will continue to work with dedication toward the nation’s progress and development.
