Prof. P.S. Rajinikanth secured a Patent for Groundbreaking Nanofiber Technology in Diabetic Wound Healing

Lucknow desk (R L Pandey).Prof. P.S. Rajinikanth, Head and Dean of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, and his research team have been granted a patent for Groundbreaking Nanofiber Technology in Diabetic Wound Healing.
This innovation marks first-of-its-kind development in India, potentially revolutionizing wound care for millions affected by diabetes. On this occasion, Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal, Vice Chancellor of BBAU congratulated Prof. P. S. Rajinikanth and his team and described their success as a matter of pride for the University.
The Department of Science and Technology - Science and Engineering Research Board (DST - SERB), Government of India, along with Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University provided essential assistance and resources to facilitate this research, making the project possible. The patented nanofibers are designed to mimic the structure of human skin, accelerating the healing process significantly compared to the traditional wound healing cycle. This advancement offers a promising alternative for patients suffering from Chronic Diabetic Foot Ulcers, A condition that often leads to severe complications due to poor healing.
The research team, comprising Dr. Sneha Anand, Prashant Pandey and Dilip Kumar Arya under the guidance of Prof. Rajinikanth, has been working on this project for several years. In addition to this success, the team is alredy pursuing a couple of other patens, continuing their mission to address critical medical challenges through advanced pharmaceutical innovations.
Their success not only highlights the growing innovation in Indian biomedical research but also opens new doors for clinical applications and commercial development in the healthcare sector. The university is currently exploring collaborations for large - scale production and further clinical trials to bring the product to the market.
