Rendezvous with Astronaut SHUX on the 27th Founder’s Day of Saraswati Dental College & Hospital

The celebration commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a warm welcome address by Principal Dr. Kunal Sah. Master of Ceremony Dr. Ayushi Pandey, Junior Resident at SDC, conducted the proceedings with grace. Dr. Sah then highlighted the institution’s achievements and the visionary contributions of Founder Chairman Col. T. S. Mathur, presented through a short documentary. A wave of excitement swept through the audience as the introduction of Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla—affectionately known as SHUX—was announced. Joining online with Coordinator Cdr. Sumit Ghosh (Advisor NAAC), the astronaut captivated everyone with his inspiring address. He spoke about his life journey, the importance of discipline and perseverance, and the evolving role of dentistry in space. SHUX encouraged students to innovate solutions for dental care during space missions. When asked about Earth’s appearance from space, he described it as “a beautiful, delicate home of humanity in the vast universe,” urging all to stay united, protect the planet, and uphold peace and brotherhood. The cultural segment showcased vibrant musical and dance performances, along with an engaging fashion show. Later, adventure sports icon Mrs. Archana Sardana shared her thrilling journey of challenges and achievements. She emphasized the qualities of courage, leadership, determination, and risk-taking essential for exploring new horizons. Encouraging students to try SCUBA diving, she highlighted how it builds confidence and resilience. In their concluding addresses, the President of SDC&H and the Chief Guest applauded the institution for organizing a dynamic, meticulously executed celebration. Dr. Rizvi commended the event for its energy, coordination, and commitment to excellence in healthcare education. A distinguished felicitation ceremony followed, beginning with the prestigious Saraswati Ratan Award (2025) presented to Sahil Agrawal (Batch 2021) for outstanding academic excellence. Awards in other categories included: Best UG Girl: Mansi Bisht (Intern) Best UG Boy: Madhur (Final Year) Best PG Boy: Dr. Gaurav Chaudhary (JR, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery) Best PG Girl: Dr. Meenu Chikkara (JR, Conservative & Endodontics) The event concluded with the announcement of the Overall House Trophy, proudly won by Chawla House for its exceptional performance throughout the year. Saraswati Dental College & Hospital, Lucknow celebrated its 27thFounder’s Day on 14 November under Impressions 2025, marked by exceptional enthusiasm and grandeur. The ceremony was graced by Chairperson Mrs. Madhu Mathur, President Dr. Rajat Mathur, and Director Dr. Smita Mathur of SHRC & BSM College of Nursing. The event had an illustrious presence of Chief Guest Dr. Ammar Rizvi, Former Acting Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, and Special Guests of Honour Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla (IAF Astronaut “SHUX”) and Mrs. Archana Sardana, India’s renowned adventurer, skydiver, BASE jumper, SCUBA diver, and TED speaker.
