SBI Chairman Presents ₹2 Crore for Upgrading 40 Primary Schools in Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow: On his inaugural visit to the Lucknow Circle as Chairman of the State Bank of India (SBI), Mr. Challa Srinivasulu Setty handed over a cheque of ₹2 crore to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath, under SBI’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The funds will be utilized for the enhancement of 40 primary schools across the state.
The Chief Minister applauded SBI's proactive role in advancing quality education and its alignment with the state’s developmental priorities. He also acknowledged the bank’s unwavering commitment to strengthening the educational ecosystem and called for increased participation of SBI in state-supported developmental projects.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Setty stated,“This initiative reflects our dedication to empowering the foundation of education in Uttar Pradesh. Through this contribution, we aim to provide children in rural areas with cleaner, improved, and more conducive learning environments—paving the way for a brighter future.”
SBI continues to lead by example in fulfilling its social responsibilities, especially in the domain of education. This partnership is a vital step toward reinforcing the educational infrastructure in the state. In addition to the CSR contribution, Mr. Setty also inaugurated 27 new SBI branches across various districts of Uttar Pradesh. These new branches aim to enhance banking accessibility, particularly in rural and underserved regions. The event also witnessed the presence of Shri Dipak Kumar De, Chief General Manager of SBI, Lucknow Circle, who emphasized the bank's ongoing commitment to inclusive growth and community development.
