Science Communication Workshop 3.0 Organized at Integral University
The programme was held under the patronage of Prof. S. W. Akhtar, Founder and Hon’ble Chancellor, and Prof. Javed Musarrat, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Integral University. The inaugural session witnessed the presence of Prof. Abdul Rahman Khan, Dean, Faculty of Science; Prof. M. A. Khalid, Dean, Student Welfare; Prof. Wahajul Haq, Dean, Research and Development; Prof. Pradeep Kumar Srivastava, Chief Guest; Prof. Vishnu Pratap Singh, Executive Secretary, ISCOS; and Prof. Snober S. Mir, Head, Department of Biosciences.

The speakers emphasized that science becomes truly impactful only when communicated effectively to society. Prof. Pradeep Kumar Srivastava, Former Senior Principal Scientist, CSIR-CDRI, and a pioneer of Scientoons and Scientoonics, demonstrated innovative and creative methods of simplifying complex scientific concepts through cartoons and storytelling.
Sessions by Dr. V. P. Sharma, Former Chief Scientist and Professor, AcSIR, CSIR-IITR, and Dr. Navneet Singhal, International Science Communicator and Former International Consultant to the UNO, highlighted themes such as environmental responsibility, scientific photography, and visual communication.
The second day of the workshop focused on public understanding of science, media engagement, and science communication models. Expert talks were delivered by Prof. (Dr.) M. A. Ansari, Chairman, ISCOS; Dr. Sarah Hyder Iqbal, Co-Founder and Lead, Superheroes Against Superbugs; Mr. Hasan Jawaid Khan, Former Chief Scientist, CSIR-NIScPR; Dr. Arvind Kumar Singh; and Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Patairiya. Interactive activities, along with a student-produced short film on genetic concepts, showcased the creative and practical application of science communication skills.
The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Snober S. Mir. Overall, Science Communication Workshop 3.0 proved to be a highly enriching initiative, significantly enhancing students’ critical thinking, creativity, and ability to communicate scientific knowledge effectively to society.
