Lucknow desk (R L Pandey).The fifth convocation ceremony of Maharishi University of Information Technology was successfully held on 23rd oct 2024, and was attended by students, faculty, and parents. On this significant occasion, Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Ajay Prakash Shrivastava and Vice-Chancellor Professor (Dr.) Bhanu Pratap Singh underscored the importance of holistic development, innovation, and sustainability for students.

In his address, the Chancellor remarked, “Our education system must prioritize self-development and mental equilibrium through the Indian knowledge system and Transcendental meditation. These are critical for the sustainable growth of students.”

The Vice-Chancellor emphasized the transformative power of Transcendental meditation, stating, “Meditation is a practice that fosters mental clarity and inner peace, enabling students to not only realize their personal growth but also recognize their responsibilities towards society.”

During the ceremony, a total of 1,572 degrees were conferred, including 673 undergraduate degrees, 605 postgraduate degrees, 250 diplomas, and 44 Ph.D. degrees.

The Guest of Honor, Professor Alok Dhawan, (Director CBMR, Lucknow) addressed the gathering, noting, “The application of the latest technologies and scientific advancements must be directed towards the welfare of humanity. It is crucial that we channel our talents towards innovations that promote human development.”

The Chief Guest, Professor K. K. Pant, (Director IIT Roorkee) While addressing the gathering said that, “Scientific and technological innovations should be dedicated to serving humanity. We must prepare students to harness these technologies to effect positive change in the world.”

The vote of thanks was delivered by the esteemed Registrar, Dr. Girish Chhimwal, who expressed sincere gratitude to all the dignitaries, faculty, and students for their contributions to the success of this memorable day.

The event was graced by esteemed members of the university, including Professor (Group Captain) O. P. Sharma (Member BOG), Shri Rahul Bhardwaj (Member BOG), Shri Pankaj Sharma, Shri Varun Shrivastava (Finance Officer), Dean (Academic) Dr. Neeraj Jain and Dr. Trapty Agarwal from the Lucknow and Noida campuses, Dean of Student Welfare Dr. Sapan Asthana & Dr. Smita Mishra, Dr. K.K. Shukla (Controller of Examinations), Dr. Rajesh Singh (Senior Administrative Officer), Mr. Sandeep Sharma (Assistant Registrar) along with numerous students and parents. The Program was anchored smoothly by Dr. Rupam Singh (Dean, MOSH).

This convocation inspired students to leverage innovation and science for human progress while recognizing the importance of the Indian knowledge system and the practice of meditation.
