Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Goel Campus Celebrates Raksha Bandhan with Threads of Love, Gratitude and Unity
Lucknow: Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Goel Campus, celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan with great enthusiasm and warmth, blending traditional values with creativity, compassion, environmental awareness and a strong sense of social responsibility.
The celebrations began with students of the Pre-Primary Wing and Classes I–II participating in a creative Raksha Bandhan greeting card-making activity. Through colourful designs and heartfelt messages, the young learners expressed the values of love, affection and togetherness.
Students of Classes III–V added a cultural dimension to the celebrations through engaging role plays and skits based on historical and mythological narratives associated with Raksha Bandhan, including the stories of Rani Karnavati and Emperor Humayun, and Lord Krishna and Draupadi. Their performances highlighted the enduring values of loyalty, affection and protection.
Promoting environmental consciousness, students of Classes VI–VIII participated in a Handmade Eco-Friendly Rakhi-Making Activity. Using sustainable materials, they created colourful Rakhis while learning the importance of celebrating festivals in an environmentally responsible manner.
Senior students of Classes IX–XII took part in several creative and meaningful activities, including Thali Decoration, Greeting Card Designing, Poetry Recitation and Storytelling. They also made handmade Rakhis and gratitude notes for soldiers and community heroes as a gesture of appreciation for their service and sacrifices.
The celebration acquired a particularly emotional and patriotic dimension when some students had the opportunity to tie their handmade Rakhis on the wrists of soldiers of the Indian Army. The students expressed their affection and gratitude, offering prayers for the soldiers' long life, happiness and prosperity. Major Nagi, Subedar Santosh and other soldiers warmly welcomed the students and interacted with them affectionately. They also shared their favourite snacks with the young visitors, making the occasion a memorable experience.
As part of the Gift of Kindness Drive, students donated books, stationery and toys, spreading happiness among others and reinforcing the values of empathy, generosity and sharing.
The festivities concluded with “Tying the Thread of Unity,” during which students tied sacred threads to their classmates, teachers and school staff. The activity symbolised mutual respect, friendship, harmony and togetherness.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Mahesh Agarwal, Chairman, Goel Group of Institutions, and Dr. Rina Pathak, Principal, emphasised that the spirit of Raksha Bandhan goes beyond family relationships. They highlighted the festival's broader message of love, gratitude, compassion, respect and unity.
The celebration served as a meaningful reminder that a simple thread can represent much more than a family bond—it can become a symbol of kindness, gratitude, respect, harmony and collective responsibility. The students' heartfelt gesture towards the soldiers further added a patriotic and memorable dimension to the festival.
