Shri Dharmendra Pradhan and CM Yogi Adityanath to Inaugurate Kashi–Tamil Sangamam 4.0 on December 2
The inaugural ceremony will witness the presence of several distinguished leaders, including Tamil Nadu Governor Shri R.N. Ravi, Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Shri K. Kailashnathan, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Shri Brajesh Pathak, and Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs Shri L. Murugan. Their participation reflects the national significance of this initiative, which brings together the northern and southern cultural heritage of India.
During the programme, delegates from Tamil Nadu will explore the cultural, educational and spiritual heritage of Kashi. Their itinerary includes visits to major universities, traditional craft hubs, historical sites, temples and knowledge centres, as well as meaningful interactions with scholars, students and local communities.
Kashi–Tamil Sangamam 4.0 is being organised by the Ministry of Education with support from ten other Union Ministries—such as Railways, Culture, Tourism, Textiles and Youth Affairs & Sports—alongside the Government of Uttar Pradesh. IIT Madras and BHU are serving as the knowledge partners for this edition.
The 2025 edition focuses on the theme “Learn Tamil – Tamil Karkalam”, aimed at encouraging Tamil learning across the country and enhancing awareness of India’s classical linguistic and literary traditions. Over 1,400 participants from Tamil Nadu, including students, teachers, authors, media professionals, farmers, artisans, women’s groups and spiritual scholars, will take part in an immersive eight-day tour covering Varanasi, Prayagraj and Ayodhya.
