SKD Group of Education Celebrates National Engineers' Day Across All Branches
Lucknow, September 15, 2026: SKD Group of Education celebrated National Engineers' Day with great enthusiasm on September 15 across all branches of SKD Academy and SKD International School. The celebrations commemorated the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya and recognised the invaluable contribution of engineers who work behind the scenes to transform ideas and technology into solutions that serve society and improve everyday life.
The celebrations were graced by Shri Manish Singh, Director, SKD Group of Education (B.Tech, IIT-ISM; MBA). Eminent guests, including Er. Ashish, Er. Abhinav and Er. Abhishek, all distinguished alumni of IIT, participated in the celebrations held across various branches.
The chief guests interacted with students and took keen interest in their innovation projects, science models and robotics displays. They appreciated the students' curiosity, creativity and innovative spirit, encouraging them to dream big, keep learning and strive for excellence in engineering and technology.
Engineering is About Solving Problems for Society
Addressing students and staff, Shri Manish Singh paid tribute to the legacy of Sir M. Visvesvaraya and described him as a visionary engineer and master problem-solver whose contributions helped lay the foundation for modern India.
He highlighted that engineering goes far beyond the construction of bridges, buildings and machines. From clean drinking water and uninterrupted power supply to medical technology and digital connectivity, engineering innovations play a vital role in almost every aspect of modern life.
He described engineers as the “silent workers behind the scenes” who contribute to society across diverse fields. Emphasising the true spirit of engineering, he encouraged students to invest in their knowledge and skills and use them for the development of society and the nation.
‘Be Job Givers, Not Job Seekers’
Shri Manish Singh placed special emphasis on developing a strong scientific temperament and problem-solving mindset among the younger generation. He urged students not to limit their aspirations to finding employment, but instead encouraged them to become “job givers, not job seekers.”
He motivated students to explore entrepreneurship, start-ups and innovation, and to work towards creating new employment opportunities through their ideas and skills.
The National Engineers' Day celebrations featured student innovation projects, science and robotics exhibitions, and interactive sessions across all SKD campuses. The activities provided students with an opportunity to showcase their creativity, technical skills and innovative thinking.
Students who presented outstanding and innovative projects were felicitated with cash prizes, trophies and certificates in recognition of their achievements.
The celebrations reflected SKD Group of Education's continued emphasis on innovation, scientific thinking, creativity, entrepreneurship and holistic learning, while inspiring students to use knowledge and technology as tools for building a better society and nation.
