Lucknow desk (R L Pandey). Study Hall College organized an exclusive Self-Defence Training Session in collaboration with Usha Vishwakarma’s Red Brigade Lucknow team, specially designed for its female students. The initiative was conducted under the theme “Safe Women, Strong Nation,” with the aim of equipping young women with essential safety skills and building confidence to handle challenging situations.

The session began on March 12 with an inspiring demonstration class, where trainers from the Red Brigade introduced students to essential self-defence strategies and shared motivating experiences, highlighting the importance of awareness, courage, and preparedness in ensuring personal safety. The program continued with hands-on practice sessions on March 13, followed by a mock drill on March 14, allowing participants to apply the techniques they learned in real-life scenarios. The program aligns with the broader mission of empowering women across the country by spreading awareness about personal safety and self-defence techniques.

Founded in 2011 by social activist Usha Vishwakarma, Red Brigade is a survivor-led organization working to build a safer society and promote a zero-tolerance approach towards sexual violence. Over the years, the organization has trained over thousands of adolescent girls and young women in self-defence through its specialized ‘Nishastra Kala’ technique and has actively worked across schools, colleges, and communities to promote women’s safety and empowerment.

Through this initiative, Study Hall College reaffirmed its commitment to women’s empowerment and holistic student development, encouraging female students to be confident, aware, and capable of protecting themselves while contributing to the vision of a safer and stronger society.

Affiliated with the University of Lucknow, Study Hall College is one of the premier degree colleges in the city, offering bachelor’s degrees in Journalism and Mass Communication (BA-JMC), Commerce (B.Com), Business Administration (BBA), and Computer Application (BCA).
