The 14th Midterm Interventional Meeting, organized by the Uttar Pradesh Chapter of the Cardiological Society of India (CSI)
Secretory of UPCSI Prof. Bhuwan Chandra tiwari from Dr.RMLIMS and Dr. Awadhesh Kr. Sharma from LPS IC from Kanpur as the Organizing Secretary. This one-day conference brought together leading cardiologists from across Uttar Pradesh, as well as resident doctors from all over the state. The meeting saw an overwhelming response, with more than 60 presentations being made and discussed, all with the goal of sharing best practices in interventional cardiology to improve patient outcomes.
The discussions during the conference spanned a wide range of topics, from basic angioplasty procedures to more complex interventions. A variety of imaging modalities, including Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), and Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR), were thoroughly discussed, providing attendees with valuable insights into their use and benefits in improving diagnostic accuracy and patient care. Experts in the field shared their experiences and presented innovative techniques that are shaping the future of interventional cardiology.
Dr. Naveen Garg, President of the Uttar Pradesh Chapter of CSI (UPCSI), delivered a message emphasizing the importance of such conferences as vital platforms for knowledge sharing. He highlighted that everyone, from seasoned cardiologists to residents, could take away valuable insights to improve their practices. Dr. Bhuwan Tiwari, Hon. Secretary of UPCSI, expressed his happiness over the wide participation and noted the tremendous learning opportunities for resident doctors, particularly regarding the correct methods of conducting interventional procedures.
Former UPCSI Presidents Dr. Aditya Kapoor and Dr. S.K. Dwivedi and prof Rishi Sethi also provided important insights. They stressed the need for more cardiologists in the state, aligning with the increased demand for advanced infrastructure a goal the government is supporting extensively. The conference successfully fostered an atmosphere of collaboration and learning, setting a benchmark for future meetings aimed at advancing the field of cardiology in Uttar Pradesh.
