Lucknow desk (R L Pandey).On the occasion of the International Women's Day 2025 celebrated  on 8th March, under the able guidance of our esteemed Director Dr. RMLIMS Prof. (Dr.) CM Singh, the Dept of Endocrine Surgery organised a Programme on the raising awareness on ‘Physical, Mental and Social Well being of the gender that makes the fabric of our society’  The program was aimed at increasing awareness of Endocrine and Breast diseases, oral health, cervical and uterine cancer, social health and mental health amongst the women. 


 
Hon’ble Director Prof C M Singh, Dean Prof. Pradyumn Singh and CMS Prof AK Singh, were amongst the distinguished dignitaries and they spoke about the need to spread holistic public health awareness on women health among the urban and rural women alike. 

Organising Chairperson Prof. S. K. Mishra (Dept or Endocrine Surgery, RMLIMS) shared that as endocrine and breast surgeons, most of their patient’s are women, so the need to talk about hormone health of women is imperative. However, holistic health among women is something that should be addressed. He also expressed his desire to collaborate with the Dept of Community Medicine to share his department’s expertise with the grass-root level workers in the society. 

Various distinguished speakers namely Dr Sarrah Idrees (Assistant Professor, Dept Of Endocrine Surgery, RMLIMS), Prof Shally Mahajan (Dept of Dentistry, RMLIMS) Prof Smriti Agarwal (Dept of OBGYN, KGMU), Prof Rashmi Kumari (Dept of Community Medicine, RMLIMS), Prof A Q Jilani (Dept of Psychiatry, RMLIMS)spoke about the pressing concerns in physical, mental, social and oral health of women. Mrs Canny Gogia (Holistic Health Coach, KIKK foundation) also delivered a lecture on ‘Woman as a creater’. 

Healthy women are the backbone of any society; they nurture families, lead communities, and drive progress. This program aimed to encapsulate just that. The organising secretary, Dr Sarrah Idrees and Co-organising secretary,  Dr Abhishek Krishna (Assistant Professor, Dept of Endocrine surgery, RMLIMS) also conducted Poster competition and Quiz for the attendees.  Dr Virender Gogia (Dept of PMR, RMLIMS), Dr Dinkar (Professor, Dept of Neurology, RMLIMS) and Dr Bhuwan (Media Spokesperson, RMLIMS) were also among many other faculty who graced the occasion.
