Lucknow desk (R L Pandey).The International Women's Day celebration, organized by the Institute of Women’s Studies in collaboration with Sanskritiki, Lucknow, concluded on March 8 under the visionary leadership of Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Alok Kumar Rai.

While addressing the gathering, the Vice Chancellor emphasized the importance of equality and inclusivity, asserting that there should be no discrimination on any grounds. He stressed that individuals should be valued for their abilities and provided equal opportunities to excel.

The event was graced by Mrs. Sangeeta Rai, the wife of the Honorable Vice Chancellor, along with Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Manuka Khanna, Director of Sanskritiki, Prof. Anchal Srivastava, Coordinator of the Institute of Women's Studies, Dr. Manini Srivastava, as well as female Deans, Heads of Departments, and faculty members from various disciplines.

As shared by Dr. Manini Srivastava, the Institute of Women’s Studies hosted a special program titled "Roping to Unite." In a symbolic gesture, the Vice Chancellor and all female faculty members held a rope together, signifying unity, strength, and collective empowerment. She explained that this rope is not merely a thread but a lifeline—an emblem of solidarity, support, and the unwavering commitment to championing the cause of womanhood.

A significant highlight of the event was the official launch of "Adhyavi"—the first Feminist, Literary, and Film Society of the Institute of Women's Studies—along with its monthly newsletter. This initiative aims to create a dynamic platform for dialogue, artistic expression, and intellectual discourse on gender and feminism.

The celebration also featured a talent showcase and the Shree Ann Cookery Competition, where faculty members exhibited their diverse talents and culinary skills. Adding to the cultural fervor, Dr. Manini Srivastava and Dr. Hansika Singhal delivered a mesmerizing performance of Ganesh Vandana.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Anchal Srivastava, Director of Sanskritiki, expressing gratitude to all participants and contributors who made the celebration a resounding success.
