Lucknow desk (R L Pandey). It is a pleasure to inform you that Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal took over the charge as the sixth Vice Chancellor of the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University on 11th March. Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal is a reputed educationist and management education experts, who is expert in the field of financial management and agricultural business management and have done extensive research and teaching work in these fields.
He has served in many educational and administrative positions during his career. Prof. Mittal has earlier served as Founder Vice Chancellor of Tirthankara Mahavir University, Moradabad during 2008-2013, Director-Development and NAAC/UGC Coordinator during 2014-2018. He has also served as the Vice Chancellor of Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani during 2018- 2024. In the present time, Prof. Mittal is a professor in the Department of Management at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi and member of the University Grants Commission.

Earlier, Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal paid obedience to the statue of Babasaheb by paying a floral tribute. The Hon'ble Vice Chancellor thanked Smt. Draupadi Murmu, Honorable President and Visitor (Chancellor) of the University and the Ministry of Education, Government of India for giving him this responsibility and assured to make concrete efforts in the interest of the university.
Prof. Mittal said during the discussion that this university named after Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar was established with the aim of promoting harmony, equality and better education and the university will work prioritizing the same objectives in future. He also expressed gratitude to all the former Vice Chancellors associated with the university for the good works done by them and assured that the university would work in the current context keeping in mind the interests of the students, so that everyone's dreams along with the dreams of Babasaheb can be realized and the university reach the new heights.
Prof. Mittal assured to work seriously on three important aspects - speed, scale and scope related to the university functioning. Through speed, development will be done rapidly in university administration, department related activites, research etc. Under the scale, A target has been set for all -round development in education, so that all students get the benefit of quality education.
Through scope, work will be done in the field of value-based education, introduction of new courses, technical, innovation, entrepreneurship and women empowerment. Apart from this, the development of the education system in the university as per the National Education Policy 2020, the university will set new goals according to the new parameters of National Assessment and Accreditation Council and Sustainable Development Goals would be some new targets of the Vice chancellor.
Earlier Prof. Mittal visited and inspected the university campus and admired the green campus. He also met the Deans of the various Schools and other sectional in -charges. During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor discussed about improving NAAC, NIRF, QS and other national and international rankings, making education easier and impactful through Information Technology and AI, skill development, collaboration with educational institutions and the industries and thereby contributing to society through education.
Prof. U.V. Kiran, Registrar, Deans of various Schools, heads of departments, teachers, non -teaching officers, employees and students gave heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the Vice chancellor.
