UPNEDA and Integral University Host Two-Day Training Programme on Energy Conservation and Sustainable Building Code 2024

Lucknow, September 2, 2026: The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA), in collaboration with the Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Design (FoAPD), Integral University, successfully concluded a two-day training programme on “Energy Conservation & Sustainable Building Code 2024 (Commercial & Residential)” held on September 1 and 2, 2026.

The programme was organized under the patronage of the Hon’ble Founder and Chancellor of Integral University, Prof. Syed Wasim Akhtar, and the Hon’ble Additional Pro-Chancellor, Syed Adnan Akhtar. It brought together experts, faculty members and students to explore practical approaches to energy-efficient construction, sustainable building practices and environmental responsibility.

Focus on Sustainable and Energy-Efficient Construction

The training programme covered several important aspects of sustainable building design and construction. The sessions focused on Building Envelope and Site Planning, Energy Systems, Indoor Environment, and Resource Conservation.

Through expert-led discussions and training sessions, participants gained insights into techniques aimed at reducing energy consumption while promoting environmentally responsible construction practices in both commercial and residential buildings.

Expert-Led Training Sessions

The sessions were conducted by Master Trainer Navneet Sharma, Consultant Architect Tushar Srivastava, and Consultant Engineer Vivek Kumar Verma. Their expertise provided participants with practical knowledge and a deeper understanding of sustainable building standards and energy conservation measures.

Aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals

The initiative also contributed to the broader objectives of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.

The programme emphasized the importance of integrating energy efficiency, resource conservation and sustainable practices into the planning and development of buildings to create healthier and more environmentally responsible spaces.

The programme was organized by Prof. Zeba Nisar, Dean, FoAPD, with the support of Prof. Dr. Safiullah Khan.

The programme was coordinated by faculty members Ar. Khurram Ashraf, Ar. Shweta Verma, Ar. Tariqul Islam, Ar. Umair Ali, and Dr. Uma Prasad Pandey.

The successful completion of the training programme highlighted the commitment of UPNEDA and Integral University towards promoting awareness, capacity building and sustainable practices in the field of architecture, planning and building design.
