“Van Mahotsav 2024: NBRI-EIACP’s Tree Plantation Drive at Don Bosco Ashalayam”
Uttar Pradesh desk Lucknow (R L Pandey)The National Botanical Research Institute's (NBRI) Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building and Livelihood Programme Centre (EIACP) marked Van Mahotsav today with a tree plantation drive at the Don Bosco Ashalayam, Lucknow.


Over 50 saplings of diverse plant species, including Neem, Kadamb, Bel, Guava, Arjun, Jamun, and Tichoma, were planted within the Don Bosco Ashalayam premises. More than 30 students and EIACP staff members participated in the plantation activity. The students also participated in the drawing activity on the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” and express their enthusiasm to plant trees in honour of the mother nature. 

The event also served as an educational platform for the students. Dr. Anju Patel Scientist and Co-coordinator NBRI-EIACP enlightening students on the crucial role trees play in mitigating pollution and lowering ambient temperatures in urban areas. Father Bimal Kerketta, Selesians of Don Bosco, promotes the significance of plantation activity and aware students about the importance of forests, woodland and trees.  

Dr. Sandhya Mishra, NBRI-EIACP explained the information regarding Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) to the participants in attaining the goals of Mission LiFE, leading to better and sustainable future for all. Participants actively engaged in the Mission LiFE pledge, committing to adopt sustainable practices and reduce their individual carbon footprints. The initiative underscores NBRI-EIACP dedication to environmental conservation and awareness about the importance of planting trees.
