International Cricket Council  : Jay Shah, who was the secretary of the Board of Cricket in India (BCCI), has now become the chairman of the International Cricket Council. This means that the world's highest body ICC will now dance to his tunes. He is only the fifth Indian to reach this position. After assuming this big responsibility, Jay Shah has to leave all his previous roles, which also includes the chair of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

The countries playing cricket in the Asian continent have formed a separate organization of their own, whose purpose is to promote cricket in 25 other countries including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan. The Asian Cricket Council was established in 1983. Jay Shah was heading the ACC for the last three years, but recently he vacated this post.

Now his place has been taken by Shammi Silva of Sri Lanka. Currently, Shammi Silva is the new president of the Sri Lanka Cricket Council. This will not be Shammi Silva's first role in the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). He has previously served as the chairman of the finance and marketing committee of this organization. Silva said in a statement issued here that it is a great honor to lead the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

Cricket is the heartbeat of Asia and I look forward to working closely with all member countries to elevate the game, provide opportunities to emerging talent and keep us all united. India won the gold medal in the men's cricket final of the Asian Games 2023 played in Hangzhou city of China. India won the toss and decided to bowl in the title match. Rain started during Afghanistan's innings, after which the match was canceled. Later India was declared the winner on the basis of higher preference.
