ipl auction 2026 :  Bangladesh Players IPL 2026 Availability in Doubt as Auction Nears

Bangladesh players ipl 2026 price :  As IPL franchise officials began arriving in Abu Dhabi ahead of the upcoming player auction, fresh clarity emerged regarding the limited availability of Bangladesh cricketers for the 2026 IPL season. Bangladesh’s international calendar includes a six-match white-ball series against New Zealand in April, which could restrict player participation during a key phase of the tournament.

A total of seven Bangladeshi players feature in the auction pool this year, with base prices ranging from ₹30 lakh to ₹2 crore. However, Mustafizur Rahman remains the only name with a strong chance of attracting franchise interest. Even in his case, international commitments could limit his involvement, potentially reducing him to a replacement option later in the season, similar to his role last year.

Bangladesh Players in the Auction Register

The Bangladeshi players listed for the auction include:

  • Mustafizur Rahman – ₹2 crore

  • Rishad Hossain – ₹75 lakh

  • Taskin Ahmed – ₹75 lakh

  • Tanzim Hasan Sakib – ₹75 lakh

  • Nahid Rana – ₹75 lakh

  • Md Shoriful Islam – ₹75 lakh

  • Rakibul Hasan – ₹30 lakh

BCCI to Clarify Overseas Availability

The BCCI is scheduled to brief franchises on overseas player availability during the pre-auction meeting at the W Hotel, Abu Dhabi, on Monday evening (December 15). While teams are expected to receive projected availability details, the board has reiterated its existing auction rules regarding partial participation.

According to the official BCCI communication:For the purpose of the Player Auction, any expected unavailability during the IPL 2026 season will be ignored. The full annual league fee will be deducted from the salary cap as if the player were fully available. However, franchises will be informed of expected availability to help plan their strategy.

BCB Assures NOCs for IPL Participation

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has indicated its willingness to support player participation in the IPL. BCB Cricket Operations Chairman Nazmul Abedin stated that national players would be issued No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for most of the IPL season.

“We want our players to get maximum exposure. They will be called back only for the minimum required duration for the New Zealand series,” Abedin said.

Abhimanyu Easwaran Likely Late Addition to Auction List

Meanwhile, developments suggest that the BCCI has added a few late entries to the auction register, which will be officially announced during Monday’s franchise briefing. Among the names reportedly included is Abhimanyu Easwaran, the captain of Bengal.

Easwaran was initially recommended by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) with a base price of ₹30 lakh, but his name was missing from the final list of 350 players released earlier. Sources indicate that a franchise has since pushed for his inclusion, leading to his return as a late entrant.

Primarily known as a red-ball specialist, the 30-year-old Easwaran has made a strong case for himself in the shorter format this season. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he scored 266 runs in seven innings, averaging 44.33 with an impressive strike rate of 152.

His standout performances included:

  • A blistering 130 against Punjab, featuring eight sixes

  • A solid 58 against Services

Despite never having played in the IPL before, Easwaran’s recent form could make him an intriguing option for franchises seeking dependable Indian batting depth.
