Every year, National Technology Day is celebrated in India on 11 May, which is celebrated as the anniversary of Mission Shakti

Lucknow। On 11th May, India successfully conducted a nuclear test for the second time in the Pokhran test series in Rajasthan. This operation was led by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and is called Operation Shakti or Pokhran-II. This day is celebrated only to mark and celebrate this achievement. At that time the Prime Minister of the country was Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Two days later, two more nuclear weapons were tested in the country. With this test, India has joined the club of six countries in the world which have nuclear power. For this reason, National Technology Day is celebrated on 11 May. Apart from this, many more important technical revolutions were made possible on this day In India.
• The celebration of National Technology Day began on 11 May 1998 after three successful nuclear tests at the Indian Army's Pokhran test range in Rajasthan under Operation Shakti. The success of Pokhran nuclear test was like getting Brahmastra for India's security system. This day has special significance in Indian history.
• Defence Research and Development Organization also successfully tested the indigenous aircraft Hans-3 on the same day under the leadership of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. Hans-3 was made by the National Aerospace Laboratory. It was a two-seater light aircraft. It is used for pilot training, aerial photography, surveillance, and environmental projects.
• Also, Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) conducted the last trial of the Trishul missile. Then that missile was included in the Indian Air Force and the Indian Army. Trishul is a surface-to-air missile. It is a short range missile.
Every year, Council of Science and Technology, UP organises many outreach events to promote technology popularization. Current year, the excursion program of the students of class 9th to 12th of government schools to two scientific institutions is being organized by the CSTUP. In the above excursion programme, 100 students will be taken on a tour of National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) and National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources (NBFGR) by the CSTUP. Students of Government Jubilee Inter College, Lucknow, Government Girls Inter College, Chhoti Jubilee, Ramadhin Singh Inter College and other schools will be participating in this programme. Along with each group of students, the concerned teachers will also participate in the excursion programme. The CSTUP will make arrangement for the refreshments and transport facility for the students. Participation certificate will also be provided by the CSTUP to all the participating students.
